| Description: | The High Chair circa 1550 to 1800. Early High Chairs were basically a small chair mounted on a normal adult\\\'s chair. The idea was simply to bring the child up to table level so that the nurse or mother could feed it. There was no retaining bar or tray at this stage - they came along much later.
